TrendNotes is published by The National Maternal and Child Oral Health Policy Center, and is designed to highlight emerging trends in children’s oral health and promote policies and programmatic solutions that are grounded in evidence-based research and practice.
This inaugural issue of TrendNotes underscores the significance of preventing and managing childhood tooth decay-why it is imperative, what we know works, and why policymakers might want to realign policies and programs to be more consistent with this goal.
TrendNotes provides state policymakers and advocates with scientific-based research and examples of best practices for advancing innovative oral health policies. The first issue of TrendNotes was the catalyst for Word of Mouth, a publication of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control that promotes the importance of good oral health, advances prevention efforts, and provides state-wide oral health advocates with the information and tools they need to create a South Carolina where every person enjoys optimal oral health.
